This launch version of PRISM collects the minimum account information needed to operate the platform: email address for authentication, first name, grade, interests, account creation date, publications, ideas, peer reviews and leadership applications.
What is public
A public PRISM profile may show first name, grade, interests, PRISM role, public publications, public ideas and contribution counts. Email addresses, passwords and authentication credentials are not public.
What students should not submit
Do not submit home addresses, phone numbers, passwords, government identifiers, personal schedules, precise real-time location or private information about another person.
How data is used
PRISM uses account data to authenticate members, display public work, manage editorial review, track leadership eligibility and operate community features. Authentication and database services are provided through Supabase; hosting is provided through Vercel.
Deletion and correction
Before public launch, PRISM should publish a working contact address for requests to correct or delete account information. Users should also be given an in-product account deletion process as the platform develops.
Students and consent
PRISM is intended for high-school students. Users must be permitted to use the service under the rules that apply to them. Where parental or guardian consent is legally required, PRISM should obtain it before collecting personal information.
